Praveen hat-trick destroys Rajasthan, RR Surrendered

Riding high on confidence after chasing down 204 with ease in their previous match, Anil Kumble of Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and decided to bowl at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bangalore didn't feel the need to make any changes from their winning line-up, but it was a different story with Rajasthan Royals, who've been hit by injuries, indifferent form and two consecutive defeats.

Rajasthan announced five changes, with three overseas players coming in. The erratic Shaun Tait was replaced by the South African fast bowler Morne Morkel, while Siddarth Trivedi, the Gujarat seamer, came in for Amit Uniyal. Two changes were forced, with both Graeme Smith and Dimitri Mascarenhas returning home due to injuries. The retired Australian batsman Damien Martyn, who also had a stint in the ICL, got his first IPL game, as did Michael Lumb, the Hampshire batsman. Rajasthan also replaced opener Swapnil Asnodkar with Delhi right-arm seamer Sumit Narwal. The short boundaries and good batting pitch should make for another high-scorer.
