The Gentleman Game has been Changed to " Business Man Game ". Cricketers are on Sale like commodities under the hand of Business Man and at the Marketplace of BCCI. I don't understand why these business man and bollywood star are interested in the game of cricket. Recently Pretty zinta who has bought the franchise of Chandigarh told to reporters in an interview that "We really don't know much about the game and its technicalities" ; if the madam doesn't know anything about the game than it is sure that he will not having any lust for game. She has bought this team just to earn money.

The Chennai team paid the highest amount for Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the first round. Dhoni was bought for Rs 6 crore ($1.5 million) and he will be joined by Sri Lanka’s spin whiz Muttiah Muralitharan who was bought for Rs 2.4 crore ($600,000).
Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, who retired from international cricket early last year, was bought by Jaipur at Rs 1.8 crore ($4,50,000) while Adam Gilchrist was bought by Hyderabad for Rs 2.8 crore ($700,000)
Controversial Pakistani pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar will join Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata team for Rs 1.82 crore ($455,000). Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene will be joining the Mohali/Chandigarh team for Rs 1.9 crore ($475,000).
In the second round Indian Test skipper Anil Kumble was won by Bangalore for Rs 2 crore ($500,000), off-spinner Harbhajan Singh Rs 3.4 crore while marauding Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya will ply his trade for the Mumbai team. The bid for Jayasuriya was Rs 3.9 crore ($975,000).
Sri Lankan wicketkeeper/batsman Kumar Sangakkara will play for the Mohali/Chandigarh team for Rs 2.8 crore ($700,000).
Based on the lines of the NBA draft, the players have been divided into eight batches for the auction. Lots A, B, C and D are made up of top-rung players. Set E has wicketkeepers, F allrounders, G batsmen, and H bowlers. There are 25 Indians, 13 Australians, 11 Sri Lankans, 11 South Africans, 8 Pakistanis, 5 New Zealanders, 3 West Indians and one Zimbabwean on the list.Up for grabs first will be the marquee players from Set A: Shane Warne, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Adam Gilchrist, Shoaib Akhtar, Mahela Jayawardene and Muttiah Muralitharan.
All teams must have at least four players from their respective Catchment Areas and four under-22 players. "The players from Catchment Areas must have an iconic player, a Ranji player or an U-22 player. The players in the auction pool, approximately 80, would be divided into categories A to F of 14 each, based on their skills. Each category will contain a certain number of marquee players, batsmen, wicketkeepers, all-rounders, spinners etc.
The budget cap for buying players from the auction pool for each team has been fixed at $5 million while the minimum payment has to be $3.3 million.A team should have a minimum of 16 players while there is no upper limit. Each team can buy a maximum of eight overseas players but only four would be able to take the field in a match, While the teams are looking at getting the right balance, the more interesting part will be to see who sells for how much. For, the eight city-specific franchises have already pumped in big money into the event by paying a total of $723.3 million just for taking part in the April 18-June 1 Twenty20 League.
For each player, the bidding will start at the 'base player fee', which has already been fixed for each player. The minimum bid has to be from $100,000. The likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Adam Gilchrist or Shane Warne have the highest base price of $400,000 or Rs 1.6 crores and are expected to breach the $1 million mark during bidding.
The BCCI has also named five 'Icon Players', who will not be up for sale. They can play for their respective cities and will be paid 15 per cent more than the highest auctioned player. They include Saurav Ganguly (Kolkata), Yuvraj Singh (Mohali), Virender Sehwag (Delhi), Rahul Dravid (Bangalore) and Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai).
IPL sources also said that the Ranji Trophy players who find their way into the eight teams will receive a fixed sum of $50,000, while the under-21 players, who have not played any first class match will receive a fixed sum of $20,000. It’s mandatory of the owners to choose four under-21 players in their 16-member squad.
